HIMARS

Ok, you may have heard of HIMARS.  Some kind of weapon system being used by the Ukrainians.  Apparently very successful.

Well, my HIMARS is equally successful, if in a different realm of things.  Mine stands for Highly Independent Marine Aquatic Recovery System.   Allow me to explain...

Fresh water must be brought to Peregrine by jerry can.   Five gallons at a time from the dock.  Gets to be a bit tedious, making fresh water conservation the order of the day.  But - we get rain almost every day.  Heavy downpours.  Lots and lots of fresh water with microplastics conveniently contained therein.  Is there a way, you ask, to make use of this nearly endless supply of fresh, potable water?  Oh, if only someone would come up with a simple solution.  Harmony among men and world peace would be on the horizon.  But where, oh where can we find a brilliant man with a solution?

Ahem.

Since pictures are worth a thousand words (excluding deepfakes) I present to you, o reader, the Dave Chesney HIMARS:

You can't appreciate the awesomeness of this unit close up - the panoramic shot below illustrates nicely the color coordination and supersymmetry of the HIMARS unit.

A close-up reveals the precise engineering that went into the HIMARS unit, along with the high-tech (patent pending) polymer storage containers for the water collected.

Yet another close-up (I knew you wanted one) shows the scupper through which the water runs into the custom collection basin.

And finally a look down the business end of the HIMARS, showing the exclusive empty marinara jar used for filling the high-tech storage containers.

Thus the sailor taking a swim each day and needing to rinse off in fresh water can use the HIMARS water in lieu of the potable water in the boat.  Also works well for small loads of laundry, rinsing off swim goggles and the other myriad needs for fresh water on a sailboat.  Potential investors are welcome to inquire.  I'll be at the bar in Waitui Marina.
